The Bulls are in Brooklyn for a little bit of history.

Jason Collins, the first openly gay athlete in one of the four major professional North American sports, is making his home debut against the Bulls. The 35-year-old center signed a 10-day contract with the Nets on Feb. 23, but he has not played at Barclays Center yet with the team on the road.

“I kind of don’t know what to expect,” Collins said about his home debut. “I know it will be an exciting arena. I have a lot of friends and family in town ... I’ll go out there and try to focus as much as I can on the game. With regards to the crowd and fans, it’s to play in front of you home fans and get that support. (I’m) looking forward to that.”

Collins has averaged 8.5 minutes a game. Reports suggest the Nets will offer him another 10-day contract, but he could not comment on it before the game.
