Is no news on Carmelo Anthony good news for the Bulls?

Two days after it was reported Melo was set to announce his decision to stay in New York, the NBA superstar has yet to announce anything. And actually, he may still have Chicago on the mind.

Phil Jackson, the former Bulls coaching icon turned Knicks frontman, said he has sent Melo a few texts since their meeting and has gotten no response.

Though, Jackson also said:

“Felt really good about my conversation with Carmelo,” Jackson said of the meeting on July 3. “We really struck a chord. The two of us, I think, feel really passionately about what we’re trying to get accomplished.”

He added: “It’s his ability to stay, be patient, lead and watch us develop a winner. There’s no instantaneous winner that we think is going to happen to the Knicks right now. But we’re going to be a lot better.”

It's possible - maybe even likely - Melo was waiting for LeBron James to make his decision first. Now that LeBron has, is a Melo announcement coming soon, then?
