Carmelo Anthony wants to test out the free agent market.

The superstar has reportedly stayed true to his word and even after a meeting with Knicks president Phil Jackson and newly-minted head coach Derek Fisher, Melo said he wants to opt out of his contract.

This should come as no surprise, as Melo has said all along he would like to test the waters as a free agent.

Where he ends up is still in doubt, however. He could go to the Heat, or maybe he winds up with the Bulls (with or without Kevin Love?) or he could still stick around New York City.

After months of rumors, the mid-summer saga looks to be unfolding exactly as predicted.
