No one can truly know what Derrick Rose is going through, but Ricky Rubio and Kevin Love believe the former MVP will come back better than ever from his second knee surgery in as many years.
Both Rubio and Love spoke at the Timberwolves' shootaround this afternoon and said that they're confidence in Rose's work ethic.
Rubio suffered a torn ACL in March 2012, and Love broke his hand twice last year, limiting him to just 18 games.
"It's painful. You know how it feels going down once, but when you go down twice it has to be hard. All I can say is I know he's a warrior and he wants to come back and he's going to do it," Rubio said. "The best luck for him."
Added Love: "It's tough to go through a series of injuries like that. I went through some of that last year with my hand and my knee," he said. "I know that's very tough, but Derrick's the type of guy that's going to do whatever he can to get back on the floor at 100 percent as quickly as he can."
Love worked out with Rose this summer, and said he was able to see firsthand how hard -- and smart -- Rose works.
"He's one of the hardest workers in the game, and that's why he's one of the best players in the game," Love said. "He worked extremely hard, but he also worked extremely smart, too. There were a lot of things he did with his body to make sure he was good to go and also he took certain days off and hit it hard the next day. He's extremely efficient hard worker, and I admire a guy like that."
