With the Bulls nursing an eight-point lead inside 2 minutes to play Friday night against the Mavericks, Jimmy Butler made his biggest (and most impressive) play of the night.
Jose Calderon found himself on the left wing with Joakim Noah defending. Calderon drove left, beating Noah, while Vince Carter sealed off Kirk Hinrich. Yet as Calderon went up for the layup, he was unexpectedly met by Butler, who seemingly came out of nowhere to block Calderon's shot off the backboard.
The Bulls went down the next possession and Butler drew a foul, hitting one of two free throws to extend the Bulls' lead to nine, 94-85. The Bulls went on to win 100-91, with Butler finishing with 19 points, seven rebounds, three assists and one very big block.
Said Stacey King, summing up the play perfectly: "Just call Jimmy Butler the Windex Man, because he's cleaning the glass. Good help defense right there, clean block, great defensive sequence by the Bulls."
