Police locate Kevin White's stolen Maserati

Maybe Kevin White's luck is turning around.

Less than 48 hours after the Bears wide receiver had his Maserati stolen in the West Town neighborhood of Chicago, police located the vehicle on the 3800 block of W. 16th Street, according to ABC 7 Chicago.

The incident occurred on Thursday evening when White's girlfriend was rear-ended while she was driving the car. When she exited the Maserati to assess the damage, two men got inside and drove off.

Over the last month, there has been a series of carjackings which involve the "bumper tapping" scheme. Thieves are tapping cars at stop signs or lights, and when the driver exits, they take off with the vehicle.

"This suggests a team of individuals doing this. One drives, both of them are in the car. Sometimes they use a female to bump the other car. If the female knows it's another female, then she gets out, lets her guard down, someone comes from behind, they jump in the car and they take off in the car," community activist Andrew Holmes said via ABC. "They'll hide the car in the garage somewhere until they can go do a drive-by or strong arm robbery with your vehicle and then they'll leave the vehicle. Sometimes the vehicle is found burned."

Authorities in Chicago are warning people not to leave their cars running if they exit the vehicle.
