Style points: Two Chicago athletes crack most fashionable list

Chicago athletes may need their own fashion show soon.

On Monday, two Windy City players cracked the top 10 of Sports Illustrated's the fashion issue rankings, earning some major style points.

Coming in at No. 2 was the Bears' newly acquired receiver, Victor Cruz. The speedy wideout is known for his salsa dancing celebration on the field and his colorful wardrobe off it. Per SI, here's how Cruz explained his style evolution:

“I’ve been in the safe zone. I’ve cemented my style and what I like—the baseball jackets, t-shirts, the suits. Now it’s time to experience new things and go outside the box a little bit. Create looks people wouldn’t think I would wear. It’s about being able to let people judge you a little bit.”

Five spots below at No. 7 ranked Dwyane Wade, whose summer has revolved around attending fashion shows in Europe. The guard's outfit selection is often questioned on Twitter, but he's clearly passionate about his love for fashion. And also his love for joggers:

“Joggers. I have so many pairs. I can dress it up or down. I don’t wear a specific brand, I’m all over the board. But it has to be a tighter, ribbed bottom, so I can pull it up over my sneakers. And they have to be stylish—not the dad ones. I’m a dad, but I don’t want dad joggers.”

Although those two are can't-miss choices, SI seemed to overlook some other Chicagoans with flare:

-- Cameron Payne

C'mon, that NASA-themed, crew-neck sweater is flawless.

-- Kris Bryant

If you don't wear your team on your sleeve, can you really call yourself a fashion icon?

-- Bastian Schweinsteiger
