Blackhawks' rookie Tyler Motte injured vs. Stars

Tyler Motte was injured in the second period and did not return as the Blackhawks hosted the Dallas Stars on Sunday night.

Motte went hard and awkwardly into the boards in the second period. He was slow to get up but did so under his own power. He immediately went to the dressing room, holding his left leg up as he skated off the ice.

There was not an immediate update on Motte’s status going forward.

Motte, who’s been an impressive rookie for the Blackhawks, has three goals and three assists in 12 games. He’s had a rough week in terms of injuries. He required stitches after taking a wayward puck to the mouth earlier this week. On Saturday night Stars center Devin Shore was called for high-sticking Motte in the mouth, resulting in a four-minute Blackhawks power play.
