He's back: Blackhawks recall Bryan Bickell

A familiar face is back in the Blackhawks’ locker room, as the team recalled Bryan Bickell on Wednesday morning.

Bickell has spent most of this season with the Rockford IceHogs, where he’s recorded 31 points (15 goals, 16 assists) in 44 games. Bickell started the season with the Blackhawks but after struggling, was sent to Rockford in November. He was reassigned there again after a short stint with the Blackhawks in December/early January.

Where Bickell fits in once the playoffs begin is uncertain but he can certainly help right now. The Blackhawks, who host the St. Louis Blues on Thursday, have been hit with various injuries among their forwards. Andrew Shaw (upper body) is unlikely to play again before the postseason. Whether or not Marian Hossa (lower body) or Artem Anisimov (upper body) play the final one or two regular-season games is unknown — the Blackhawks did not practice on Wednesday, so no updates were available.
