CALGARY, Alberta – Vinnie Hinostroza is feeling better and could play, and Corey Crawford will start when the Blackhawks face the Calgary Flames on Friday night.

Hinostroza, who left the game late in the first period of the Blackhawks’ 4-0 loss to Winnipeg on Tuesday night, did not practice on Thursday. But coach Joel Quenneville said Hinostroza is doing better, and there’s a chance he could play against the Flames.

Niklas Hjalmarsson did not practice but it was only a day off. He’ll play against the Flames.

Meanwhile, the Blackhawks’ injury situation may be improving this week. Quenneville said Tyler Motte (lower body) could join the Blackhawks as early as Friday in Calgary and could still play on the Canadian portion of this trip. Trevor van Riemsdyk (upper body) is still uncertain; if he does join the Blackhawks, it would more likely be on the California portion of the trip.
