With all the rumors swirling around that St. Louis Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols could be Cubs bound in 2012, CSN's David Kaplan has already started planning for that possibility.

Kaplan unveiled his personalized No. 5 Albert Pujols Cubs jersey to CTL on Thursday evening.

Chicago Tribune's Cubs writer Paul Sullivan joined CTL to give his thoughts on Kaplan's newest prized possession.

Cubs sending Kyle Schwarber to minor leagues

The Cubs want to get Kyle Schwarber right and they're taking a major step in trying to do so.

According to CSN's David Kaplan, the Cubs are sending Schwarber to Triple-A Iowa.

This comes at an interesting time with Ben Zobrist already on the disabled list and Jason Heyward now headed to the DL with a hand injury. So the Cubs are down three Opening Day regulars with Schwarber headed to the minors:

Heyward ripped up his hand sliding for a catch in New York the other day.

Zagunis is a 24-year-old outfielder who is hitting .249 with a .399 on-base percentage and .873 OPS in Triple-A Iowa. He also has 11 homers and 35 RBI, drawing 48 walks against 60 strikeouts.

Schwarber, 24, has struggled through 64 games this season as he's slashing .171/.295/.378 with 12 home runs and 28 RBI.

Schwarber has the lowest batting average among qualified MLB hitters in 2017.

Schwarber missed all but two games of the regular season in 2016 before making a dramatic return in the World Series to help the Cubs win their first title in 108 years.
