Each week, CSNChicago.com takes a look at the injury report from both the Cubs and White Sox, presented by Service King.

CUBS

- Miguel Montero looks to be back soon from his back issue that has forced him out of action since April 24. When Montero is activated - likely sometime this weekend - Tim Federowicz will be sent back down to Triple-A Iowa.

- The Cubs announced a series of surgeries for 40-man roster guys on Friday. Left-handed reliever Zac Rosscup underwent surgery on his left shoulder and won't even pick up a baseball for three months. Right-handed pitcher Andury Acevedo tore the ACL in his left knee and will miss the remainder of the season.

WHITE SOX

- Todd Frazier's scary face injury caused a mini freak-out in White Sox nation earlier this week, but everybody could breathe a collective sigh of relief after the game. Frazier went head-first into the stands and had to receive five stitches, prompting announcer Hawk Harrelson to run down to transform into a sideline reporter.

- The Sox also welcomed back catcher Alex Avila Monday after a strained right hamstring has kept the veteran backstop out of action since late April.
