Ben Zobrist wasn't exactly living in the moment when he picked up his go-ahead hit in Game 7 of the World Series.

Why? Well, as he told talk-show host Conan O'Brien on Wednesday night, Zobrist claims to have "lost consciousness" from the time he connected on his double down the third-base line and the time he was celebrating on second base.

Quite a time to go out.

"He got me down, and I was just flailing at balls, emergency hack. And then the last one was just over the plate and up enough that I could get enough of the barrel to it," Zobrist recounted. "And when I hit it, I think I lost consciousness."

"You did," O'Brien interjected. "You actually collapsed, and you were in a coma for a week."

"I didn't remember anything until I was jumping at second base with my fists in the air," Zobrist finished.

Well, Ben, we were all awake during the entire thing, and we can assure you it was pretty awesome.
