Chicago Sky star Elena Delle Donne is currently in Rio preparing for the Olympics as a part of USA Basketball.
On Wednesday, the WNBA star revealed that she is in a same-sex relationship and is engaged.
The Vogue article breaking the news is not yet public, but was referred to in a story by Phil Thompson of the Chicago Tribune.
“I’ve grown up in a family where I have the most unique sister in the world and we’ve always been taught to celebrate uniqueness,” Delle Donne told Thompson. “It was easy for me to be who I am and hopefully others can be who they are as well.”
Delle Donne has led a standout WNBA career as a member of the Sky, winning the 2015 WNBA Most Valuable Player award.
