Danks has control issues again vs. Colorado

Share

John Danks struggled with control for the second time in as many starts this spring, walking four Colorado Rockies while allowing three hits and three runs in three innings Sunday. After walking three against the Angels last week, Danks now has issued seven walks in five Cactus League innings.

It's not like we haven't seen this before from Danks. The lefty has been prone to random spells of wildness -- he walked seven in two starts last April and 13 in his first four starts of May.

So it's not a bad thing that Danks is getting these yips out of the way in meaningless games. There's still plenty of time between now and Opening Day, which Danks should still start despite these early-spring control issues.
