Sox, Indians and a scheduling oddity

The White Sox have played 48 games heading into their Memorial Day contest in Tampa Bay. Of those, 12 -- or 25 percent -- have been against Cleveland.

In those 12 games, the Sox are 8-4 and have out-scored Cleveland 85-54. Obviously, this weekend's sweep has skewed those numbers a bit, but then again, the Indians won't have a chance to improve on that gulf until late September.

The next scheduled meeting between the White Sox and Indians isn't until Sept. 24, a Monday night opener of a three-game series at U.S. Cellular Field. A week later, the Sox play their final series against the Indians, closing out the season with a three-game set in Cleveland Oct. 1-3.

So in under two months of the regular season, the Sox have played the Indians 12 times. They now go nearly four months (120 days, to be exact) until they meet Cleveland again.

A lot can change between now and then. But maybe, just maybe, those will be some dates to circle when the pennant race really heats up.

A high ranking scouting director told Sanchez that Robert "is the best player on the planet." Scouts who have spoken to Law question Robert's hitting and Law passionately defends his sources on the podcast.
