White Sox morning roundup

Share

From yesterday:

Chris Sale struck out seven in six innings of one-run ball with no walks as the White Sox beat the Dodgers 3-1. Three of those strikeouts were of Matt Kemp, the reigning NL MVP runner-up. And Trayce Thompson belted a home run. So, all around, good game.

With Sale's start, the lefty now has 22 strikeouts with just two walks this spring. All signs point to Sale doing just fine in his transition back to being a starter.

Don Mattingly played against Ozzie Guillen quite a bit in his career, and given his comments on the Dan Patrick Show Thursday, Ozzie got under his skin a little bit. Mattingly, describing Guillen's playing style, called him a "little st."

Tony Andracki and I rolled out our all-Chicago roster from 1960-2011. Think we missed anyone? Let us know in the article comments.

With organizational guy Christian Marrero being shipped to Atlanta, Jim has decided to retire his links roundup known as the "Christian Marrero Reading Room." But fear not! The replacement is outstanding: Terrerobytes. And from the other blog ranks, James pines for Opening Day, Chris Lamberti has a fantastic look at Rube Foster and Fornelli offers up some thoughts on Thursday's Cactus League game.

Around the division: Chris Perez was solid in his first spring training appearance, Miguel Cabrera will return from a broken face on Friday, the New York Times has a fantastic profile of Eric Hosmer and Carl Pavano has been the target of an extortion plot.
