White Sox morning roundup

From yesterday:

Alexei Ramirez (2-3, 2 RBIs) and Dayan Viciedo (3-4, RBI) continued their hot hitting to balance out the Sox going 3-13 with runners in scoring position, helping the offense support a four-person relief effort after Jose Quintana was ejected to lead the Sox past Tampa Bay 4-3.

On Quintana's ejection: Hawk Harrelson was pretty upset, as well he should be.

Where does that rant rank on your all-time list of Hawk diatribes? Let us know here and re-live a few others. And Chicago Tribune Live discussed the rant and the quality of umpiring in baseball:

Quintana deserved a better fate than to be ejected in the fourth inning of what may be his last start with the White Sox for a little while. But at the least, he's got the job done every time he's taken the ball in a White Sox uniform.

Robin Ventura earned his first ejection as a manager on Wednesday after the Quintana fiasco. Before the game, he joined the Dan Patrick Show to discuss the first-place Sox, among other topics:

A few other videos: Dale Sveum was complimentary of the White Sox, Gordon Beckham wrapped up the Rays series and Chicago Tribune Live discussed the Sox hot streak.

Around the division: The Sox extended their lead in the AL Central to 1 12 games as Kansas City beat Cleveland 6-3, Doug Fister headed back to the disabled list before Detroit lost against to Boston and Francisco Liriano threw six shutout innings with nine strikeouts and two walks to lead Minnesota to a sweep of Oakland.
