88 Days to Kickoff: Warren Township

CSNChicago.com preps reporter "Edgy" Tim O’Halloran spotlights 100 high school football teams in 100 days. The first 75 team profiles will focus on teams making strides across Chicagoland and elsewhere in the state. Starting Aug. 1, we’ll unveil the @CSNPreps Top 25 Power Rankings, leading up to kickoff on Friday, Aug. 26.

School: Warren Township Blue Devils

Head coach: Bryan McNulty

Assistant coaches: Brandon Schild, Josh Williams, K.C Lange, Jim Voutiritsas, Luke Mueller Jr., John Hergenreder, Mark Mika, Cameron Campbell

How they fared in 2015: 6-5 (4-2) North Suburban Lake. Warren Township made the Class 8A state playoff field. The Blue Devils defeated Chicago Curie then lost to Naperville Central in second round action.

Biggest storyline in 2016: Can the Blue Devils win the North Suburban Lake conference crown this fall?

Names to watch this season: WR Micah Jones QB Luke Schmidt OL/DL Cameron Shaw

Biggest holes to fill: The Blue Devils welcome back 14 starters (8 on defense) but who steps up to replace graduated RB Darrius Crump?

EDGY's Early Take: Warren Township will again have a ton of talent and if the underclassmen group can fill in at a few key spots beware of this team.

89 Days to Kickoff: Yorkville

89 Days to Kickoff: Yorkville

The first 75 team profiles will focus on teams making strides across Chicagoland and elsewhere in the state. Starting Aug. 1, we’ll unveil the @CSNPreps Top 25 Power Rankings, leading up to kickoff on Friday, Aug. 26.

School: Yorkville Foxes

Head coach: Dam McGuire

Assistant coaches: Mike Guzaldo, Ben Graham, Tom Regnier, Matt Williams, Shawn Schumacher, Joe Nauman

How they fared in 2015: 4-5 (1-3) Northern Illinois Big 12 East. Yorkville failed to qualify for the 2015 IHSA state football playoff field.

Biggest storyline in 2016: Can the Foxes bring several inexperienced starters up to speed sooner rather than later this fall?

Names to watch this season: TE Austin Avery, DE Sean Kuhn

Biggest holes to fill: The Foxes will need to find help in several spots but none will be as vital than in the offensive skills with just senior tight end Austin Avery the lone returning starter.

EDGY's early take: Yorkville will have a ton of youth and inexperience this season and that can be a very dangerous proposition in the rugged NIB12 conference. If the Foxes can get off to a good early start they have a chance at getting back to the IHSA state playoffs.

90 Days to Kickoff: Morris

CSNChicago.com preps reporter "Edgy" Tim O’Halloran spotlights 100 high school football teams in 100 days. The first 75 team profiles will focus on teams making strides across Chicagoland and elsewhere in the state. Starting Aug. 1, we’ll unveil the @CSNPreps Top 25 Power Rankings, leading up to kickoff on Friday, Aug. 26.

School: Morris Redskins

Head coach: Alan Thorson

Assistant coaches: John Courter, John Wodzkiak, Bill Lauer, Keith Anderson, Greg Larsen, Matt Seidel, Danny Hoffman, Derek Johnston, Brian Kasher, Jon Lanning, Justin Zink, Ryan Clauson, John Lyle, Tyler Hartley

How they fared in 2015: 4-5 (0-4) Northern Illinois Big 12 East. Morris failed to qualify for the 2015 IHSA state football playoff field.

Biggest storyline in 2016: Can Morris reload and get back to it's winning ways this fall?

Names to watch this season: RB/LB Keagan Sobol, DB/RB Michael Feeney, OL/DL Nathan Korte

Biggest holes to fill: The Redskins bring back just one starter on the defensive line and one starter at linebacker this fall.

EDGY's early take: It's not very often that Morris is home come state playoff time. Look for the Redskins offense to be an early strength and if the Redskins can survive a tough early and late schedule they will be back in the state playoff field in 2016.
