Chicago Planning Commission approves Wrigley renovation plans

Local alderman Tom Tunney and the Chicago Planning Commission approved the Cubs' $500 million Wrigley Field renovation plans with a unanimous vote.

The main attraction -- and hurdle for the Cubs to get over -- was a Jumbotron in left field. The plan also includes $300 million to the stadium and construction to the surrounding area, including a 175-room hotel and six-story office building.

Because of the delay in gaining approval, the Cubs are unsure if construction can be completed before the start of the 2014 season.
