Twenty-four hours after Dale Sveum guaranteed Matt Garza would start for the Cubs Monday night, reports came out indicating the veteran right-hander would, indeed, miss his outing.

According to Passan, the Cubs' haul includes third baseman Mike Olt and pitchers C.J. Edwards and Justin Grimm and a player to be named later.

The Cubs and Rangers were reportedly close to a deal Friday, but that rumor did not come to fruition before the weekend ended, leaving Sveum and the Cubs to field question after question about Garza in anticipation of his turn in the rotation Monday.
