With the city of Chicago tracking the Cup and reveling in the Blackhawks' second championship in four years, one story may have fallen a little under the radar.

Former pitcher Kerry Wood, who was dubbed "The New Mr. Cub" shortly before he retired from baseball last season, discovered a dead body Monday morning while out paddleboarding.

Like something out of an episode of "Law and Order" or "CSI," the Cubs icon stumbled across a man's body floating in the water and notified police. He had no comment on the matter, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The man, 40, was apparently released by a local hospital on June 19 and had an identification tag on his left wrist. An autopsy was inconclusive.
