Most teams aren't likely to strike gold on every draft selection. For Chicago, 1984 helped shape more than two decades of dominance in the Windy City.

None was bigger than the Bulls selecting Michael Jordan with the third overall pick in the 1984 NBA Draft. We all know how that worked out for their franchise. The Cubs grabbed Hall of Famer Greg Maddux with the 31st overall selection in the MLB Draft, and found former All-Star Jamie Moyer in the sixth round. The Bears selected two key contributors to their 1985 Super Bowl-winning team in Wilber Marshall and Ron Rivera. The Blackhawks drafted Chicago native Eddie Olczyk and former coach, Trent Yawney in the 1984 NHL Draft.
