Anthony Rizzo helped key the charge for the offense Wednesday night with four hits, but the Cubs first baseman had a bit of a brain fart after the team's win.
Starting pitcher Jason Hammel kicked off his media session by letting everybody know Rizzo congratulated Hammel on his first National League victory.
The problem is...Hammel entered the game 1-0 on the season after beating the Pirates in Pittsburgh last week.
This is also the same pitcher who spent three years with the Colorado Rockies, winning 27 games.
It created for a funny situation after the game as reporters immediately went to Rizzo in the clubhouse to gauge his reaction.
Hey, it's a 162-game season. It would be a long year without moments of levity like this.
