Mr. Cub is still enough of a star to land on magazine covers.

Arguably the greatest Cubs player of all-time, Ernie Banks graces the cover of this year's "Where Are They Now?" issue of Sports Illustrated.

Sixty years after his rookie season, Banks landed on the cover and is the subject of the issue's featured profile, which highlights his trademark disposition and positive attitude.

The picture on the cover is accompanied by a quote: "Any fool can be ebullient in victory, but only an aristocrat is undaunted by defeat."

Banks is celebrating the 60th anniversary of a rookie season that saw him hit .275 with 19 homers and 79 RBIs. He finished second in National League Rookie of the Year voting. He would go on to make eight straight All-Star Games in the next eight seasons (he'd finish his career with 11 total All-Star appearances) and win back-to-back MVPs in 1958 and 1959.
