The Cubs have announced Kane County Cougars first baseman Dan Vogelbach minor league player of the month and Tennessee right-handed pitcher Matt Loosen minor league pitcher of the month for July.

Drafted by the Cubs in 2011, Vogelbach is standing out for the Cougars in his second pro season. Vogelbach is hitting .290 with 16 home runs and 68 RBI in 104 games for Kane County so far.

In his six July starts, Loosen has gone 3-0 and recorded a 0.96 ERA.

Previous minor league players of the month for the Cubs organization include: Javier Baez (June), Dustin Geiger (May), and Rock Shoulders (April).

Other minor league pitchers of the month for the Cubs organization include: Chris Rusin (June), Kyle Hendricks (May), Eric Jokish (April).
