After spending three seasons with the Chicago Cubs in the radio booth, color analyst Keith Moreland has decided to step away to spend more time with his family.
He was hired in February of 2011 to replace the great Ron Santo, who had been play-by-play man Pat Hughes' partner since 1996.
Moreland, 59, released a note to the WGN staff that reads, “I would like to thank the fans, the folks at WGN Radio, my colleagues in the booth, the Ricketts family, and the Cubs for this great opportunity. After spending three years doing it, I’ve simply decided that I want to spend more time at home in Texas.”
