The Cubs announced on Thursday afternoon that they have moved the Sunday, June 29 game against the Washington Nationals at Wrigley Field to Saturday, June 28, as part of a doubleheader.

The doubleheader will be a separate admission day-night affair. Game 1 will take place at 12:15 p.m. Once the first game concludes, fans with a ticket to Game 2 will be admitted into the stadium. Game 2 is scheduled to begin at 6:15 p.m.

Alderman Tom Tunney made the request due to the neighborhood traffic and congestion during the annual Pride Parade on June 29.

The Cubs will get a rare Sunday off day with the schedule change.

According to Cubs historian Ed Hartig, the doubleheader will be the first scheduled at Wrigley Field since July 4, 1983.
