When an opportunity knocks on your door, you answer it.
That's exactly what Aaron Cunningham unknowingly did when he noticed that Ice-T, the rapper and actor, was at his doorstep interested in buying his car. Cunningham, 27, had negotiated a deal to sell his car to another man but decided to switch focus to his new buyer, Ice-T.
Cunningham's 2003 Lincoln Navigator had been customized with new rims, a grille, and other fancy accessories.
Cunningham's hobby of buying cars, fixing them up, and selling them, began the same year his baseball career did. The outfielder was drafted in the sixth round by the White Sox in 2005 and has played for four different teams throughout his MLB career. On Tuesday, Cunningham signed a minor league deal with the Chicago Cubs.
The purchase for the Navigator was finalized in 2007 where Ice-T paid $20,000. Cunningham said that this selling had to be his most memorable of them all.
"I can't really top that," Cunningham told the Arizona Daily Star. "It's so random it's unbelievable. It was awesome because he was very nice and polite. No way he knew who I was."
