For all the focus on the Cubs' roster, Sveum Watch and the team's record, the Wrigley renovation project sometimes gets lost in the shuffle.

Thanks to several delays to the $500 million project along the way, the Cubs will not have their new clubhouse, weight room or training facilities by Opening Day 2014, as highlighted by Cubs Insider Patrick Mooney Wednesday.
So while construction was slated to begin Thursday, Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein said the home clubhouse will not be in place until the 2015 season.
"Last I heard, the work done this winter will be structural," Epstein said last week. "infrastructure to put us in position to make a few changes the following year, assuming all the dreaded t's get crossed and the i's get dotted."
