After failing to make it back to the majors last season, former Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano is attempting another comeback, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The 32-year-old is currently a starting pitcher for Magallanes in the Venezuelan Winter League. Over his first two starts, he has a 4.00 ERA.

Zambrano’s last season in the majors was spent with the Miami Marlins in 2012. He made 20 starts with the team and went 7-10 with a 4.49 ERA.

Last summer, Zambrano was given a minor-league deal by the Philadelphia Phillies, where he made three starts in Class A and AA before going to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. However, he only lasted four starts in Triple-A after being shut down by the team because of shoulder pain.
