The celebration inside the ballpark was over. The Boston Red Sox had just won the World Series and the crowds of overjoyed fans swarmed the streets of Boston.
Most of the players had cleared out of the locker room and joined in on the celebration outside the gates of Fenway. But former Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster stuck around, soaking in the victory Cubs fans hope to one day see on the North Side.
Dempster returned to the mound with family and friends, throwing practice pitches to whoever wanted to join him.
