When will Javier Baez, Kris Bryant and the other top Cubs prospects get to Wrigley Field?
If it was up to CSN analyst Todd Hollandsworth, those kids would arrive in Chicago soon.
"I'd love to see it," Hollandsworth said on CSN Thursday. "Don't tell me what you're learning in the minor leagues is necessarily going to serve you well in the big leagues. There's a big separation there.
"Learning at the big-league level is very, very important. I think the sooner you get your young players here, the sooner they start learning what it's all about.
"My personal opinion, I'd love to see these young kids get up here and get a chance to play...You gotta learn it up here, you gotta play up here, you gotta learn if you can stand on your own two feet at the major-league level. So the sooner you get these guys going, that's when the process really starts."
Hollandsworth, the 1996 National League Rookie of the Year, believes Bryant could be in the big leagues now, and doesn't buy into the whole mindset that the Cubs would like to see Bryant struggle, rise above the adversity and be better for it.
