The "Party of the Century" kicked off Friday at Wrigley Field as the Cubs began their season-long celebration of the stadium's 100-year history.

More than 38,000 people purchased tickets to the Cubs' home-opener as they hosted the Philadelphia Phillies, led by Cubs icon Ryne Sandberg.

Prior to the game, GM Jed Hoyer ran down a list of what fans can expect at the Friendly Confines all season long.

"There are a lot of fun plans, a lot of things with the food, bobbleheads, uniforms," Hoyer told CSN's Kelly Crull. "I think they'll do a  great job of making it a fun year for the 100th.

"And they should. This place is a treasure. There's not many like this in sports anymore and we should really savor it."
