"In a draft defined by velocity, Kolek is the hardest of the hard throwers. According to scouts we talked to, he is the hardest-throwing high schooler of the draft era." (Baseball America)

"Tyler Kolek is a 6-foot-5 right-hander who can throw his fastball in the upper-90s with a fairly easy and effortless delivery. he combines it with a power curve that has the potential to be a strikeout pitch. His size and arm strength alone is enough to make him a very hot commodity." (MLB.com)

"In a draft class filled with power arms, Kolek leads the pack. He has very good command and solid pitchability. The sky truly is the limit with Kolek." (Minor League Ball)

Fit for the White Sox at No. 3: Like most teams, the White Sox are apprehensive to take a high school pitcher so early. But it would be easier to reach a deal and cost less against the bonus pool to sign Kolek than a college pitcher like Carlos Rodon.

Fit for the Cubs at No. 4: It's unclear if the Cubs have interest in Kolek. They understand the risks associated with prep pitchers, but they did send Kerry Wood out to scout the next big thing from Texas.
