The Cubs have found recent success with low risk, high reward signings.
According to a report from the Chicago Tribune, the Cubs have signed free agent left-hander Jonathan Sanchez to a minor league deal.
Sanchez was once a promising prospect with the San Francisco Giants and threw a no-hitter for the club in 2009.

The 31-year-old Sanchez posted an 11.85 ERA in four starts with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2013.
In seven seasons, he has a 39-58 record with a 4.70 ERA.
Sanchez is expected to compete for a spot in the Cubs bullpen next spring.
