Comcast SportsNet continues its coverage of 15 spring training games in 16 days Monday as the Cubs take on the Los Angeles Angels. Coverage begins at 3 p.m.
If 2014 is going to be any different for Edwin Jackson, he'll need to get off to a good start out of the gate.
The 30-year-old veteran led the National League with 18 losses last season in a disappointing campaign that included a 4.98 ERA and 1.46 WHIP. Jackson has added two more losses (and a 7.20 ERA) in his two spring training starts, but Cactus League stats don't matter and he made headlines by throwing nothing but fastballs his last time out.
Jackson gets another chance to tune-up for the 2014 season, getting the start for the Cubs Monday in their spring game against the Los Angeles Angels on Comcast SportsNet.
The Cubs are in the middle of split-squad play, but the lineup behind Jackson is heavy with guys expected to find their name on the Opening Day lineup card.
Here's the way the Cubs' order shakes out for Monday:
1. Emilio Bonifacio - SS
2. Ryan Roberts - 2B
3. Anthony Rizzo - 1B
4. Justin Ruggiano - CF
5. Nate Schierholtz - RF
6. Welington Castillo - C
7. Ryan Sweeney - DH
8. Darnell McDonald - LF
9. Luis Valbuena - 3B
Be sure to stay tuned to CSN through the afternoon as highlights from the Cubs' other split-squad game against the A's, where top prospect Javier Baez will get a chance to showcase his skills at second base. Cubs Insider Patrick Mooney will also provide coverage and a complete breakdown of Baez's first game at 2B later today on CSNChicago.com.
