What is the most iconic moment for the Cubs?
Depending on what era you're from, it could be the Steve Bartman incident in 2003. It could be the black cat crossing Ron Santo's path in 1969. It could be Wrigley Field's first night game in 1988.
The Sporting News recently compiled a signature moment for each MLB franchise and decided the Cubs' was Kerry Wood's infamous 20-strikeout game on May 6, 1998.
That outing is widely considered as one of the most dominant pitching performances in baseball history. Wood allowed just one weak hit to the Houston Astros that day and did not walk a batter, finishing with a game score of 105, the highest number for a pitcher ever.
