On a day of superstition, both pitchers look to battle their fortunes on Friday the 13th.

While Jake Arrieta looks to maintain his luck not having lost against the Pirates, Charlie Morton is trying to reverse his, having not beaten the Cubs in over three years. With two wins under his belt, Arrieta has given up just four earned runs and has 11 strikeouts during those games. When healthy, Morton has been a mainstay in the Pirates rotation over the last few years but hasn't picked up a win against the division rival Cubs since May 5, 2010.

The Pirates are currently riding a four-game winning streak and are tied with the St. Louis Cardinals (85-61) for the division lead.
