Former Cubs pitcher Kerry Wood and his wife, Sarah, held the first annual Woody's Wiffle Ball Classic Saturday night in Wrigley Field, bringing out dozens of former players and celebrities to raise money for the Kerry Wood Foundation.
Actors Bill Murray, Matthew Perry, George Wendt, Kristy Swanson Jenny McCarthy all came out to play in the 16-team, double-elimination tournament. The teams, donned in classic old fashioned jerseys, took to the historic Wrigley Field after a team scavenger hunt, and after the games were completed the night concluded with a celebrity Home Run Derby. Former Cubs included Derrek Lee, Moises Alou, Michael Barrett and Glendon Rusch.
"It's something that I truly think could be a rock-and-jock event for all these guys to come out every year and make it a summer event in Chicago," Sarah Wood said. "It's great."
The complete show will air August 26 at 7 p.m., only on Comcast SportsNet.
