Cubs

The Cubs take on the Washington Nationals tonight, and you can catch all the action on Comcast SportsNet. Coverage begins with Cubs Pregame Live at 5:30 p.m.
The Cubs have kept their eyes on Jordan Zimmermann for a long time, and they'll get a chance to watch him at Wrigley Field on Tuesday on CSN when he takes the mound for the Nationals.
Bryce Harper is the kind of player you hate to play against but would love to have on your team. The Nationals star enjoys the big stage, so it's no surprise he loves playing at Wrigley Field.

Team talk

Ryan Dempster went out the same way he began 2011 -- by getting rocked. The Cubs Opening Day starter closed out the season by allowing nine runs in 5 23 innings as the Cubs fell 9-2 to the Padres.
  • 3y
As the Cubs season officially closes, Mike Quade isn't the only one questioning their job security within the organization. But those questions will be left unanswered until Tom Ricketts hires the next GM.

Matt Garza was outstanding Tuesday night, going seven innings and allowing only two runs as the Cubs rallied late to beat San Diego, 6-2. Alfonso Soriano's three-run home in the eighth proved to be the deciding factor.
  • 3y
There has been speculation that the Marlins could be interested in Aramis Ramirez and he is open to that possibility. If Ramirez joins Ozzie Guillen in South Beach, could it persuade Carlos Zambrano to join them?
  • 3y
Casey Coleman just missed out on a quality start in his final outing, hurling 5 23 innings, allowing just two runs while striking out seven, but the Cubs couldn't muster up any offense as they fell 2-0 to the Padres in San Diego.
  • 3y
Aramis Ramirez may have his doubters and naysayers, but the Cubs will find it very difficult to replace the offensive production he has provided in the heart of the order at third base since mid-2003.
  • 3y
Casey Coleman is 0-3 with a 7.91 ERA in his last four road outings but is coming off his first win in nine starts and hopes to build off his last start in his final outing of the season vs. the San Diego Padres Monday night.
