The Jon Lester watch has already begun. The 30-year-old checks pretty much all the boxes for Cubs executives Theo Epstein and Jed Hoyer, who’ve known him since he was coming up through the Red Sox system.
The Cubs just finished off another last-place season, but Theo Epstein has expectations for a different finish in 2015: Contention.
The Cubs need an assistant hitting coach for the 2014 season and after a successful stint with Triple-A Iowa, could Manny Ramirez be considered for the big-league gig?
