Jon Lester broke an 0-for-66 streak for his first big-league hit — and took a no-hitter into the seventh inning — but the Cubs fell to the Cardinals 6-0 at Wrigley Field on Monday night.
Joe Maddon floated the idea that Dexter Fowler would be the right player at the right time for the Cubs. But that time has yet to come.
The Cubs planned their future around Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant, and both of them have been named to the National League All-Star team, the MLB announced on Monday.
