Rafael Dolis won his second consecutive start and fourth in five outings on Friday as Tennessee upended Birmingham, 5-2, at Smokies Park.

Dolis 5-3, who is pitching as well as he has all season, scattered eight hits and allowed but runs over six innings. Esmailin Caridad and Blake Parker fourth save allowed one hit over the final three innings.

Brandon Guyer, Steve Clevenger three runs scored and Tony Thomas each had a pair of hits. Clevenger extended his hitting streak to seven games, during which he is batting .640 16-for-25.

In other action, Daytona failed to pick up ground on Tampa in the race for the Florida State Leagues North Division title Friday night. The Cubs dropped a 5-1 decision to Lakeland in 11 innings at Jackie Robinson Stadium while the Yankees were busy losing at Dunedin. Mike Perconte allowed all four 11th-inning runs. The Dash did all their scoring early, jumping out to a 5-0 lead after three innings before holding on for a 5-2 victory over Myrtle Beach at BB&T Ballpark.

Winston-Salem scored three runs in the second and was aided by a pair of Pelican errors. Greg Paiml sandwiched an RBI double in between the miscues while Kenny Williams added a run-scoring sacrifice fly. Kyle Sheltons two-run double was the big blow in the third but that too came about as a result of another Myrtle Beach error.

Joe Serafin allowed both runs in 5 23 innings to collect his second win.

In other action, Birmingham lost at Tennessee, 5-2. Tyler Kuhn had three hits, including a homer and an RBI. Kannapolis dropped a 5-3 decision to Lexington at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium as the Legends scored twice in the ninth to earn the victory. Jacob Petricka 0-1 allowed both runs and suffered the loss.
