Mike Magee has missed the Fire's first two games of the season with a hamstring injury, but the reigning MLS MVP seems ready to get back into action.
He is expected to be in the lineup Sunday when the Fire host New York.
"I'm definitely chomping at the bit and a little frustrated my hamstring has let me down the last two games," he said, "but I'm feeling good and hopefully (head coach) Frank (Yallop) gives me the chance."
First-year head coach Frank Yallop has the Fire sitting at 0-1-1, but is excited to get his best player into the lineup.
"He trained yesterday and felt no issues at all," Yallop said. "So, very excited to get him back on the field and get him into the team. He's excited, I'm excited to finally have him available and it's good news for the fans and the Fire coaching staff."
