Bears make time for WWII veterans

Virtually every Bear was lined after practice on Thursday to shake hands and say hello to four WWII veterans who came up to watch some of practice as part of Honor Flight Chicago, a group which provides a trip to Washington for a day of honor and more.

Visiting this week, each wearing some article of clothing bearing the name of their ship or outfit, were Warren Robinson, Dominic Geraci, Steve Horosinski and Norm Lasman, a cousin of Bears legend Sid Luckman.

The Bears have been so good to us, said Maureen Doolittle, escorting the group. (One prominent member of the McCaskey family has been a volunteer with the group for some time, but since that wasnt done for public consumption, it wont be here, either.)
