Urlacher: ‘We've got to win it, that's all there is to it'

Brian Urlacher doesn't want to consider the the fact that this week's game against Green Bay could be his last Bears-Packers matchup.

"I hate missing games, period," Urlacher told NFL executive Pat Kirwin and myself on SiriusXM NFL Radio. "It doesn't matter who we're playing, I just hate missing games. This one is a little bit harder because it is Green Bay. I don't really think about it as the last chance to play them or anything like that. I'll cross that bridge when I have to in the offseason."

As far as his injured hamstring goes, Urlacher had a positive mindset.

"It's getting better. It feels better everyday. I just keep doing my rehab and doing what I'm told," Urlacher said, who's also focused his on-field presence in other ways.

"When I have to stay off it, I have to, but I try to coach as much as I can when I'm out there on the field during practice."

As much as Urlacher is bothered by having to miss the storied Bears-Packers rivalry this weekend, he and his teammates understand the gravity of what this game means to their playoff hopes.

"It's huge," Urlacher said about Sunday's game. "If we win this game we are tied with Green Bay record-wise."

"We've got to win it, that's all there is to it. It helps our playoff chances either way. If we don't end up winning the division, it helps us get into the wildcard race."

Now the Bears' must-win game needs to happen without No. 54 in the lineup.
