Blackhawks comment on Kane's exploits

When Patrick Kane made Deadspin headlines for his Cinco de Mayo celebrating earlier this month, the Chicago Blackhawks got quiet, refusing to comment on it.

On Tuesday, general manager Stan Bowman, albeit briefly, did.

The Blackhawks have handled Kanes situation internally, Bowman said on Tuesday, who chose not to discuss the matter much further.

Obviously were aware of it, we followed it closely, Bowman said via conference call. Its one of those things we discussed with Patrick, weve handled it internally. Were disappointed with how it played out and Patricks aware of that. But its a private matter and Im not going to comment further.

Kanes weekend celebration was a very public one; the Blackhawks forward showed up to the Madison, Wis. celebration sporting a T-shirt with a picture of his infamous limo ride on the back. Deadspin had several photos of Kane at parties and bars there. A few days later, anonymous witnesses claimed Kane had shouted anti-semetic remarks and choked a girl. But there have been no substantiated reports, or charges, for any of that.
