Hawks fall to Kings in shootout

Patrick Kane tied the game with 12:24 remaining in regulation but Mike Richards came up with the shootout winner as the Los Angeles Kings beat the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 on Sunday night.

The Blackhawks remain in sixth place, five points behind the Nashville Predators.

Marcus Kruger ended Jonathan Quick's shutout streak against the Blackhawks with his second-period goal. It's the first goal the Blackhawks tallied vs. Quick since Nov. 26; he shut them out the last two contests, 2-0 and 4-0 decisions.

Viktor Stalberg was denied on a penalty shot that would've tied the game but Kane scored his 18th of the season just 58 seconds later. But six rounds' worth of shootout couldn't produce a goal for the Blackhawks.
