Lepisto hoping to be ready for playoffs

Sami Lepisto whirled around the ice with his Blackhawks teammates on Thursday morning. Just being back with his fellow playershe had skated on his own a few daysfelt good.

I feel OK but not 100 percent yet, said Lepisto, whos recovering from a left-leg injury he suffered against St. Louis on March 6. Once I get out there, I want to be 100 percent.

Lepisto was getting back out there from early February through March, when fellow defensemen Niklas Hjalmarsson and Steve Montador were out with concussions. Then came March 6, when Lepisto put a hit on David Perron along the boards. But Perron fell on the back of Lepistos left leg, and hes been out ever since. It was a frustrating moment in a season full of them for Lepisto, who was a healthy scratch most of the time before that.

Its been a tough season but I just have to battle through it, said Lepisto, whos happy his injury wasnt as serious as it looked. Something like that happens over the course of the sason but it was good that it wasnt anything major. I was lucky in that respect.

Lepisto hopes to be ready to go before the playoffs begin.
